2021 Leatherbound Update!
Hello backers! We just wanted to send a quick update about the 2021 The Way of Kings leatherbounds. The bindery is working hard to ship out as many books as they can, and have almost finished Tier 4. However, the 2021 Tier 6 NUMBERED leatherbounds are complete, so we wanted to give our Tier 6 backers a heads up to start watching for their books! The bindery will be shipping the Tier 6 NUMBERED leatherbounds along with the rest of Tier 4, and will then begin shipping Tier 5. Tiers 4 and 5 are our largest tiers, so we expect this will take many weeks.

Swag Shipments Are Complete!!
Our team members and volunteers gave a resounding cheer as we finished the final shipments!
We did it! Our Kickstarter launched on July 7th, 2020, and we packaged the last swag shipment on July 8th, 2021, 366 days later! We still have a few straggler shipments to send—mainly people who filled out their surveys after we had already finished shipping their tier—but the bulk of our swag shipments are finally complete! We would like to give our backers a huge thank you for your patience as we shipped your products.
2021 Tier 4 Leatherbound Books Shipping
Leatherbound books for those who backed the $200 "Signed Leatherbound + Swag 2021" tier are still shipping directly from the bindery. However, this tier is nearly finished, so Tier 5 should start shipping at the beginning of next week.

2020 vs 2021 vs Pre-Order Tier Status
We have received many questions about our different tiers and our use of “2020” vs “2021” in our tier names. To address the most common misunderstanding: these dates have nothing to do with the year you ordered your books in. Even if you backed Tier 4 in September of 2020, since that was after the Kickstarter closed you are still part of the “BackerKit Only Pre-order” (Tier 0B) tier.
When we began the Kickstarter campaign, we had 10,000 leatherbound books in production and scheduled to ship by the end of the year. However, the campaign was much more successful than anticipated and we sold out of all 10,000 leatherbound books within hours. We called these sold-out tiers “2020” tiers and opened new tiers for leatherbound rewards with a 2021 delivery. While all these tiers were still sold during the campaign in 2020, they are referred to in our communications as “2021” tiers due to the delivery date expectations.
After the Kickstarter campaign closed on August 7, 2020, we opened a “Pre-Order” store through BackerKit. As all 2020 delivery leatherbound books were sold out, anyone who ordered directly through BackerKit also had 2021 delivery expectations and are listed in our updates as “BackerKit Only Pre-Order” for tier classification purposes.
How Do I Know Which Tier I Backed?
If you are unsure what tier you backed, please log in at https://thewayofkings.backerkit.com/backer/review to see a list of the rewards you are expected to receive. If you do not have an account, you can create a free BackerKit account using the same email address on file with our campaign to see your reward list.
If your rewards are listed under a section titled “Pledge Items,” then you have a Kickstarter pledge level. At the top of the BackerKit page, you should see a “Your Pledge Level” heading with your Kickstarter pledge title. You can use this information along with the list in this update below the heading “Reward Fulfillment Status By Tier” to determine your pledge tier.
If you do NOT have rewards listed under the “Pledge Items” section and do not have a pledge level listed, but your rewards are instead listed under a “Cart” section, then you are part of the “BackerKit Only Pre-Order” group.
Due to the number of shipments in the “BackerKit Only Pre-Order” group, we have separated what we previously referred to as Tier 0 into “$1 No Reward – Tier 0A” and “BackerKit Only Pre-Order – Tier 0B” tiers.
2021 Tier 5 Swag Packaging Complete!
Swag packs are complete for those who backed the $250 "Signed Leatherbound Plus 2021" tier. The final packages in this shipment will be sent to USPS this weekend. Your leatherbound books will ship later this summer, please watch for updates.
2021 Tiers 2, 1, and 0A Swag Packaging Has Begun!
Addresses have been exported and assembly of swag packages has commenced for those who backed the $50 "Physical Stormlight Novella" tier, or purchased physical swag add-ons to the $10 "Digital Stormlight Novella" or $1 "No Reward" tiers. These are expected to take around two weeks to process.
